Jermaine J. Walton Arrested after DUI Collision near 12th Avenue

SACRAMENTO, CA (February 1, 2022) – Friday morning, Tyler “Ty” Lenehan was killed in a wrong-way DUI crash on Highway 99.

The collision occurred on the southbound lanes of the highway near 12th Avenue around 5:13 a.m.

According to reports, 31-year-old Jermaine J. Walton was driving a 2016 Dodge Charger north in the southbound lanes near 47th Avenue. As a result, he eventually struck a police motorcyclist, operated by Lenehan, head-on.

Paramedics arrived and transported Lenehan to a local hospital where he later died.

Meanwhile, police arrested Walton for suspicion of DUI. Police later booked him into Sacramento County for several felony charges.

Authorities shut down Highway 99 for several hours for cleanup and preliminary duties. An active investigation is currently underway.
