One Killed, Suspect Arrested after DUI Collision near Brookhurst Street

ORANGE COUNTY, CA (February 1, 2022) – Sunday, police arrested Tyler Christian Williams following a fatal DUI crash on 91 Freeway.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the westbound lanes of the highway near Brookhurst Street.

Crews responded to the scene near the Anaheim and Fullerton City border.

Investigators determined that a westbound 2013 Lincoln collided with a 2004 Ford, causing the Ford to overturn. Shortly after, the Lincoln slammed into a nearby 2012 Toyota.

Paramedics arrived and transported the Ford driver to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Although, officers have not released his identity.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested the Lincoln driver, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Christian Williams for gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

Both directions of the roadway shutdown for an unknown amount of time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, Orange County officials are still currently investigating the crash.
