DUI Collision on Sunset Road Left Two Critically Injured

LAS VEGAS, NV (August 23, 2023) – Thursday night, two people were sent to a hospital after being seriously injured in a DUI crash on Durango Drive. The incident took place at the area of Durango Drive north of Sunset Road, at around 8:55 p.m., August 10th. According to LVPD, two vehicles were involved in the collision, and both vehicles were occupied by a single driver. Police suspect a 2022 Toyota 4-Runner was stopped for a red signal at Sunset on a southbound Durango. At the same moment, a 1999 Mercedes-Benz was speeding south on Durango, close behind the Toyota. According to police, the crash occurred when the Mercedes-Benz’s front collided with the Toyota’s back. Furthermore, emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported both drivers to the hospital for further treatment. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested on DUI-related charges. Consequently, the officers have determined that the factors that caused the collision are speed and impairment. Further investigation is still ongoing.
