UPDATE at 5:06 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015: UCLA says one of the suspects is a student. Details below.

Two young men have been arrested in the shocking death of a UCLA student whose body was found following an apartment fire near campus one week ago today.

Twenty-two-year-old Eric Marquez was arrested yesterday “near his apartment on Strathmore Drive,” which is close to the fire scene, the Los Angeles Police Department announced this afternoon. Twenty-two-year-old Alberto Medina was arrested at his home in Fresno on Saturday, police said.

Motives were not yet ascribed to the suspects.

Both were booked on suspicion of murder. No bail amount was set for Medina, cops said; bail for Marquez was $1 million.

The body of 21-year-old Andrea “Andy” DelVesco was found following a 7:05 a.m. fire Monday, Sept. 21, in a ground-floor apartment at 10954 Roebling Ave. in Westwood, authorities said.

The fire was being investigated as an arson, and LAPD's elite Robbery-Homicide Division detectives were put on the case of her death, which officials called “suspicious.”

Over the summer, DelVesco pleaded not guilty in a case that alleged she had MDMA (ecstasy), LSD, psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms), and methamphetamine for sale on or before June 4.

It's not clear if police believe the drug charges were connected to her demise. Cops had few details to offer, saying this in a statement:

The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Major Crimes Division, for filing considerations.

UPDATE at 5:06 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015: UCLA said in a statement this afternoon that “Marquez is a fifth-year undergraduate UCLA student majoring in biology.”

The other suspect is not a student, the school said.
