Traffic Crash on Highway 160 Left Two Fatalities

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 6, 2022) – The CHP are investigating a crash on Highway 160 that left two people dead Wednesday morning.

According to the police, the collision occurred around 9 a.m. just south of 3 Mile Slough.

Investigators determined that a 2005 Nissan crossed the opposing lanes.

As a result, two cars approaching the opposite road hit the vehicle.

Tragically, the driver and the passenger of the Nisan sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved drivers of the 2016 Toyota Rav 4 and a 2021 GMC Sierra suffered minor injuries.

Eventually, officials identified the Nissan driver as a 19-year-old man and the passenger as a 48-year-old woman from Pittsburg.

At this time, Sacramento County officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the Highway 160 crash.
