Two people were killed in pot-shop violence in Los Angeles Thursday, authorities said. The first incident, at The Higher Path in the 1300 block of Sunset Boulevard in Angelino Heights, was reported at 4:13 p.m. One man was killed and another was wounded.

Then, at Hollywood Holistic, in the 1600 block of North El Centro Avenue, a victim was killed shortly before 9 p.m., authorities said.

Police so far believe the killings are not connected.

In Hollywood, “the sole employee in the store was found dead by the owner of the store,'' Sgt. Don Lawrence of the Hollywood Station said.

In Angelino Heights, the store was ransacked, according to KCAL9: Product and cash were believed to be missing.

The apparent homicides came as stringent new rules from the Los Angeles City Council have outlawed most of the pot shops in L.A.
