2 Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Citrus Avenue

FONTANA, CA (March 9, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 10 took the lives of two individuals.

The incident took place on the eastbound side of the freeway, just west of Citrus Avenue around 4:54 a.m.

California Highway Patrol officers said the driver of a Toyota slammed into a Chevrolet for reasons unknown. The impact of the collision caused the Chevrolet to catch on fire.

Medics arrived and pronounced at least two victims inside the Chevrolet dead. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, further details about the deceased victim’s identities remains unknown.

The driver of the Toyota fled from the scene, but police are now actively looking for the suspect.

Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
