Injuries Reported after Fiery Big-Rig Accident near Highway 46

PASO ROBLES, CA (August 22, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, at least two victims sustained injuries in a semi-truck crash on Highway 101.

The collision occurred on August 16th, around 4:24 a.m. near Highway 46.

According to California Highway Patrol, a sedan collided with a semi-truck that was carrying a load of oranges. The collision caused the truck to erupt into flames and spill 48 bins of oranges along the freeway.

The incident also caused a chain reaction collision with two other vehicles.

After preliminary duties, medics transported two drivers from the scene to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, HAZMAT was also dispatched to the scene to clean up the fuel that had leaked from the semi-truck.

At this time, Paso Robles Officials continue to investigate the Santa Maria River Bridge semi-truck crash.
