2 Men Hospitalized after Speeding Collision near Carmel Mountain Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 18, 2022) – Tuesday morning, two victims were injured in a pursuit crash on Interstate 15.
The incident happened around 4:40 a.m., near Carmel Mountain Road.
According to reports, officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on a sedan following a traffic violation. The driver then sped away along the southbound lanes of Interstate 15.
Shortly after, the suspect driver rear-ended a milk truck near the Carmel Mountain Road exit. As a result, the milk truck flipped onto its side, leaving both drivers trapped inside their vehicles.
Responding emergency personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate both male drivers from the wreckage. Paramedics took them to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
At this time, it is unclear if the speeding driver will face any charges.
