At Least Two Hospitalized after Head-On Collision along Highway 16

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 28, 2022) – Two people sustained injuries in a head-on collision at Jackson Road along Highway 16 in Sacramento County on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred about 6:35 a.m. Jackson Road near Latrobe Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevy Malibu behind a school bus attempted to cross over solid double yellow lines. Following that, the Malibu collided head-on with a westbound Chevy Spark.

The accident caused the Spark to topple, causing debris to collide with a Chevy Silverado heading westbound behind the Spark.

The Malibu then collided into the left front side of the bus, which, fortunately, had no students on board.

Responding medics rushed the driver of the Malibu and Spark to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, the school bus driver and Silverado driver escaped unharmed.

In addition, police closed the surrounding area for cleanup and preliminary duties but has since reopened.

At this time, authorities are conducting active investigation of the crash, once available more information will be released.
