7-Year-Old and 4-Year-Old Girls Killed in Semi-Truck Crash near Lake Road
GILROY, CA (January 25, 2024) – Two young girls died early Friday morning in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 152.
At approximately 7:00 a.m. on January 12th, police officers arrived at the location just west of Lake Road in response to an incident. According to officers, the driver of a 2021 Tesla traveling west attempted to overtake a large truck by entering the eastbound lanes, resulting in a collision with an oncoming 2018 Honda and 2017 Dodge.
Additionally, the Dodge collided with a Peterbilt big-rig, and the Tesla veered into the path of a 2020 Subaru.
Due to the severe injuries sustained, a 7-year-old girl inside the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a 4-year-old girl, also from the Dodge, was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Emergency responders took three occupants from the Honda and the Subaru’s driver to a nearby hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of the deceased girls.
