Leave it to the Amit Itelman, artistic director of the most uncategorizable-est venue in town, the Steve Allen Theater, to dredge up An American Hippie in Israel . Promises Itelman: “It’s far out! This is the American premiere of the 1972 Israeli hippie lovefest, which follows actor Asher Tzarfati as a Vietnam vet running from his past to the land of milk ’n honey. Stick around after for a set of beat-punk riff rockers the Ettes, who are flying in from Nashville for the free love.”
