It's safe to say that the first-ever Tributefest in Santa Clarita on Saturday, May 1, was a success, and not just because of the eight tribute bands to take the stage. With almost twenty food trucks and dozes of beers on tap, the wide selection of mobile cuisine might just have been the real highlight at the debut Tributefest, Drink Eat Play's answer to blockbuster jam-fests like Coachella and Lollapalooza.

Just a few trucks to roll onto Santa Clarita's Central Park include Komodo, Crepe'n Around, South Philly Experience, Frysmith, and the Dim Sum Truck, with cooks serving up everything from Asian/Mexican fusion cuisine and hand-cut kimchi fries with pork belly, to greasy wieners and sweet and savory crepes. And what's an all-tribute band lineup without beer? More than 30 brews on tap offered a range of global favorites, including Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, and Bass, as well as samples from microbreweries such as Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, Bootlegger's Brewery, Mission Brewing, and Lagunitas.

Plus, with everyone's attention on the Tom Petty/Johnny Cash tribute band, Petty Cash, the event offered an opportunity to experience food trucks like never before: without the lines. More photos after the jump.
