We tried to stay away from the story of Trent Arsenault. We really did. With both hands. It's an icky tale.

He's the Bay Area guy who mass-donates sperm to women and couples who want to have children. He does so on his own, outside the white coats of sperm labs. And so he was recently warned by the FDA to stop doing so because, it says, it has jurisdiction over anyone who manufactures “human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products.” (Heck, we all do).

His lawyers are trying to fend off the FDA. Fine. Okay. But then it turns out this guy's a one-man porn star. And that brings us back down to L.A. and our own Porn Valley:

So yeah, the 37-year-old who has helped 14 couples get their preggars on (creepy enough) likes to jerk off and let the world see his sperm “production” via such NSFW Xtube sites as this one and this one.

Xtube is owned by Manwin, which operates out of L.A, Luxembourg, Montreal and Hamburg.

Of course, before we found out about his one-man-band activity (which has reportedly drawn 3 million views and up), some of us in the media (and by us we mean them) were quick to race to Arsenault's defense.

The Huffington Post:

We can't think of a better biological father than Trent Arsenault. Would you really rather trust some no-name who came in a cup for $50?

Yeah. The dude even said donating sperm to the 99 percent who can't afford name-brand jizz was a totally Occupy thing to do. He told the San Jose Mercury News:

I'm happy to help the rest of the 99 percent who aren't so rich.

But with the emergence of more than 100 videos of Trent doing his thing you have to wonder if he's just aiming for his own jollies — or at least for the 69 percent who dig stuff like that.

Gawker notes that Trent makes no secret of his, uh, manipulation videos. And he tells the site they help him be a better donor:

100% of my sexual energy is devoted to being a sperm donor. Having those videos helps my sex drive… which is critical to being a guy with a 200 sperm count able to help three childless couples in one month get pregnant.

So being a creepy jerk off is really the healthy thing to do?
