City officials continued to urge calm in the wake of a third night of protests and minor unrest following the George Zimmerman not guilty verdict in Florida.

Mayor Eric Garcetti and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck planned a 2 p.m. press conference regarding the demonstrations:

Last night both the mayor and the top cop took to Twitter to ask folks to mellow out: LAPD Lt. Andy Neiman actually told parents to “text” their teens and tell them to get off the streets.

Beck said this last night:

We were sorely disappointed by the actions of about 150 individuals who decided to break away from the peaceful protest …

LAPD Officer Bruce Borihahn told us there were 14 arrests last night during unrest along Crenshaw Boulevard: 13 for alleged failure to disperse and 1 for suspicion of inciting a riot.

The L.A. Fire Department didn't have specific data on injuries but spokesman Brian Humphrey acknowledged this attack on KCAL / CBS Los Angeles reporter Dave Bryan and a camera operator, saying the victims sustained minor injuries.

During the night's festivities demonstrators stormed a Walmart at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza and appeared to assault one or two people outside a gas station at Crenshaw and Slauson Avenue.
