If you're angry about justice, or lack thereof, it's probably not good to take a swing at the nearest cop.

It will only dig a deeper hole. And this week authorities say that's what happened for Trayvon Martin protester Brandon Bell, 24, who was charged with battery on a police officer, disobeying a cop's orders, and resisting arrest.

The L.A. City Attorney's office says Bell was at a Trayvon Martin protest at 10th Avenue and Washington Boulevard in Arlington Heights Sunday night when he punched an officer on a skirmish line.

Then this happened, the office says:

Officers were eventually able to push the demonstrators off the line when Defendant Bell ran back into the crowd. After demonstrators began throwing rocks, batteries and water bottles at officers, Defendant Bell allegedly returned to the line and started yelling at officers in an attempt to further incite the crowd.

When cops caught up with Bell he allegedly resisted, but they eventually collared him, prosecutors say.

He could face two years behind bars if convicted. That's more time than George Zimmerman got.
