Talk about a big Saturday. Dance denizens have two mega-events to choose from this week, and it’s sure a toughie. Dutch dynamo Ferry Corsten brings his trance-a-licious wall of sound to the Shrine (a space that more well-known promoters are thankfully starting to rediscover), and his expertly selected and seamlessly blended beat bangers are sure to impress. The DJ/producer has been nominated for pretty much every DJ award there is (most recently, he won “Best Trance DJ” in Ibiza), and this special Club Giant–promoted party is a rare opportunity to see and hear why. Shrine Auditorium, 700 W. 32nd St., L.A.; Sat., April 12, 10 p.m.-4 a.m.; over 18; $50. www.clubgiant.com.

If you’re looking for a more underground vibe, the warehouse shindig called Local Heroes is your ticket. Presented by MFG (Dance Right, PYT) and White Lite productions, this hipster hop boasts a nonstop cool-kid-approved lineup on three stages, including Crystal Castles, Fat Lip (Pharcyde), Justin Martin, Them Jeans, Jason Emsley, Mr. White, DJ Skeet Skeet, Classixx, Acid Circus, Hollywood Holt (DJ Set), Acid Girls, DJ Diabetic (Shepard Fairey), Cosmic Kids, Trevor Labrelle and Alex Dyer. If all that ain’t enough, they promise goodie bags and free Colt 45 til 11 p.m.! At the “Premiere Event Center” (two warehouses on Imperial between Sixth and Seventh), dwntwn.; Sat., April 12, 10 p.m.-3 a.m. (or until they get kicked out); $18 advance, $24 door. www.danceright.net.
