Fernando Reyes Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Nature Park

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 9, 2023) Tracy Sundberg and Randall Robert Ray were killed Sunday, in a DUI pedestrian accident on Aliante Parkway.

The incident took place around 2:38 p.m., at the intersection of Aliante Parkway and Nature Park Drive.

Initially, Fernando Reyes backed up into a car on the 215 overpass. He then sped away before running a red light and striking another car. The impact sent his vehicle into the sidewalk where he struck two pedestrians.

Paramedics rushed the pedestrians to UMC where one victim succumbed to their injuries. Police identified the deceased victim as 51-year-old Sundberg. The other victim, 68-year-old Ray, later passed away on Monday at the hospital.

Following preliminary duties, investigators determined that Reyes was driving at 56 mph in a 35 mph zone and was under the influence of marijuana.

Authorities eventually arrested 21-year-old Reyes for several charges including numerous traffic infractions plus DUI resulting in death and reckless driving. Once available, further details will be provided.
