Diana Gordon is a phenomenal singer-songwriter — a true creative with the vocals to back it up. When it comes to forming emotional connections with her music, the “Wolverine” recording artist is the queen, unleashing both relatable and innovating records for her growing fanbase. Now, she returns with a brand new visual for “Becoming,” a record that marks a new era of opportunities and a work ethic that demands success.

Directed and shot by Maxime Quoilin (who’s worked with the likes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Travis Scott, Justin Timberlake), the three-minute video sees Diana in all her true forms: from the basketball court to twerking at a house party with her girls. While the song is a female empowerment anthem in itself, the clip reminds you of her beauty and confidence in being unapologetically black.

She sings on the pre-chorus, “You already know she’s a real chick, ah / Now she’s on a roll and the roll won’t stop, bitch on the road in a brand new drop.”

Diana states, “’Becoming’ is me affirming my future success and celebrating how far I’ve come. I’m doing a lot of self-care, I’m ignoring the fuck boys. I got about five real friends that I shower with love and I’m the glue that keeps my family together. I got a lot of work to do but I got a lot to celebrate too.”

“Becoming” will definitely be in rotation this fall.
