Traffic Accident on Newton Road Injures Driver, Two Arrested

EL DORADO, CA (April 26, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, a DUI crash on Pleasant Valley Road injured Tracey Kinney, police said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:15 p.m. on Pleasant Valley Road, east of Newton Road.

Furthermore, Investigators said Kinney drove a 2015 Fiat sedan and failed to follow a curve, losing control of the vehicle.

As a result, the Fiat drifted into the westbound side and collided with a 2021 Freightliner truck towing log loading machinery.

Afterward, a 1997 Toyota 4 Runner driven by Kinney’s boyfriend, 51-year-old Michael Carrigan of Pollock Pines, also collided with the big rig.

Eventually, paramedics arrived at the scene and airlifted Kinney to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with major injuries.

In the end, both Kinney and Carrigan were suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Authorities also took them both into custody into the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville for DUI charges.

El Dorado County officials continue to investigate the incident.
