Spring Break isn’t just for high school and college kids! The rest of the fam should enjoy it, too! These days, our options for Spring Break destinations aren’t limited to Florida anymore — but you can always consider going there! It’s the go-to place for a reason. If you want to have a spring vacation for the whole squad to enjoy, here are a few Spring Break destinations you can consider going to:

Some Spring Break Destinations for the Whole Family to Enjoy

1. Texas

There’s just something about the southern climate that everyone loves to experience — and the spring season is perhaps one of the best times of the year when Texas should be visited. But South Padre Island and Galveston Island aren’t the only Texas spring break destination down there! There are dozens of national parks located in Texas and you can get more time to bond with your family as you hike those places. Moreover, historical sites like The Alamo are always fun to visit. If it gets too hot or humid, just dive into the Texan waters — like the Comal River or Lake Texoma.

2. Nashville

Another spring break destination down south is Nashville. There, you can check out just how much they love their music — especially country! But if you get hungry, you can grab a plate of their hot chicken. Nashville museums also hold one of the richest historical finds; like the former president Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage (the mansion where he spent his final years and where the former president also rests) as well as the Johnny Cash Museum — where there’s an amazing number of possessions the singer had.

3. Florida

Everyone’s favorite spring break destination should be included in the list! Florida, whether you prefer Miami, Orlando, or Panama City, you and your loved ones will not be disappointed with the state’s beautiful beaches and lively attractions. So it’s pretty much a no-brainer by now that you should definitely consider checking out Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Legoland, or Disney World! — you’re guaranteed to have just as much fun as your kiddos. Florida is also famous for their crocs and gators. If you’re into wildlife, you can visit Everglades National Park.

4. Louisiana

You can bet that Louisianans are still post-Mardi Gras festive. That said, does Louisiana still need an introduction? — unique architecture and history are two things that Louisiana has a LOT of! Therefore, you can go museum-hopping with the family to learn more about the great (and not-so-great) things that happened in the past; you can check out The National WWII Museum, Oak Alley Plantation, and the French Quarter. There’s also Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo if your family is interested in finally having voodoo myths debunked. Finally, two words — Creole cuisine, aka America’s best proof that the country’s food indeed has flavor!

How and What to Prepare for Spring Break

Going on a road trip with the gang can be a handful! Because, yes — you can be sure that your spring break destination will be nothing short of enjoyable. However, it’s the journey that can be a headache; especially if your little ones are at THAT age! But then again, even if they’re already teens, you now have to deal with that “phase.” (You just can’t catch a break!)

Here are ways to make the road trip easier:

  • Plan your spring break destination and create an itinerary of the places you’ll visit.
  • Book your hotel in advance and schedule the landmarks and establishments you’ll go to.
  • Create a schedule and make sure everyone sticks to it.
  • Even stopovers need to be scheduled. Take a look at the map and plan their bathroom breaks based on the route — and stick to the route!
  • If you have a toddler, you can keep their necessities at an arm’s length from you. That way, if he or she starts crying or if the little one starts asking for something, you can give it right away.
  • If you have kids a little older than that, make sure they bring their gizmos with them. Like their cell phone or iPad.
  • But don’t make the trip exclusively tech-reliant. You can play games with them! Like the classic “I Spy” or some trivia games!

High Tides, Good Vibes!

We know spring break is all about the parties — but it doesn’t have to be like that ALL the time! Sometimes, it’s also the best time to enjoy bonding with your family. If you’re thinking of spring break destinations that are kid-friendly and places that are not too…lively, you can check out some museums, try different cuisines that are unique to the state (or foods they can cook best), or attraction parks that you won’t feel too old enough for!
