Drew TewksburyTwitter on trial. Courtney Love heads into court (as usual!) in February facing defamation charges by fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir, who claims that in 2009, the singer-turned-something-or-other issued some particularly slanderous claims via Twitter.
Love began the Twitter battle after Simorangkir accused her of stealing thousands of dollars worth of clothes. Love retaliated by calling Simorangkir a “drug-pushing prostitute with a history of assault and battery who lost custody of her own child and capitalized on Love's fame before stealing from her,” as THR reports. Love's tweet: “She has received a VAST amount of money from me over 40,000 dollars and I do not make people famous and get raped TOO!”
La Love's Twitter account has been suspended and this case marks the first time slander charges have brought a Twitterer into court. But we're sure this won't be the last. We've been thinking about some other musicians who lay down some serious smack via Twitter. So here are our Top 8 slanderers, dissers, tweet thugs and all around Twitter idiots:
8 & 7. G-unit alums Tony Yayo and rapper Game
These toools got into a Twitter beef when Yayo alleged that Game was not in control of his own empire. Then the disses got serious and proctocological:

2 & 3 Chris Brown and BE'Mario Thornton
In late December, Chris Brown squared off in a Twitter battle with former B2k member Raz-B, aka De'mario Thornton, that turned into a slanderous showdown. Thornton lashed out at brown for this abuse of Rihanna and Brown retaliated by tossing homophobic slurs and taunted the molestation charges Thornton alleged against his ex manager. It was a mess with both parties guilty of slander:

More than just dropping occasional disses on his Twitter, 50 Cent has sometimes decided to issue full on threats. When rapper Jah Rule headed into the slammer for a two year prison term, 50 began tweeting threats against anyone who wanted to start shit with him:
