Night at the Mausoleum

Meet some of the Los Angeles celebrities who are now in permanent residence at the mausoleum beneath the cathedral. The guided tour of these hallowed halls is preceeded by an optional mass (5:30 p.m.) and followed by a wine tasting reception (7 p.m.).

The Hollywood wine bar's second annual candy and wine tasting features classic Halloween candy paired with boutique wines. Perhaps a Cornet et Cie Grenache Noir with those Junior Mints? Or a Viognier/Chardonnay blend with that candy corn? Excellent choice, madame.

A Dark Carnival II and The Eccentric Circus

Dana Hollister's two downtown L.A. bars, both with a steampunk/gypsy caravan/freaky Victorian circus vibe, team up for a multi-band extravaganza featuring carnival food, hand-crafted punches, a beer bus, tarot card reading, psychics, sideshows, Skee-Ball Tournaments and bacon caramel popcorn. (A portion of the proceeds will go to Sunset Free Clinic.)

2nd Annual Farm Dinner

At this benefit for The Growing Experience, sit under the stars in TGE's lush gardens as you dine on a six-course meal prepared by various local chefs. Every course will feature seasonal produce grown on-site at TGE, which was recently honored as one of the state's most successful urban farms.

Day of the Dead Cooking Class

Celebrate the culinary traditions of Dia De Los Muertos as chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger will teach this demonstration-style cooking class that includes a multi-course lunch, signature cocktails and a recipe booklet.

Bitter In The Mouth

Award-winning author Monique Truong comes to LA for this dinner, which features a menu inspired by her latest novel, Bitter In The Mouth. The book follows a woman who is hiding many secrets including the fact that she has synesthesia; she tastes the words that she hears and speaks. There are two menus: a chicken and beef menu and a vegetarian tofu/shitake menu.
