Coming to Southern California and heading to the beach can be an overwhelming task because there are so many to choose from. Each beach has its own special feeling and traits to it. Whether you want to lay out and tan, do some beachside shopping, have a barbeque, or swim in the beautiful L.A. water, my top 5 will satisfy it all!

1. Zuma

Zuma Beach is always beautiful. The sand is clean and inviting for a day parked at the beach. The water is beautiful and kid-friendly and it’s also a great spot to see whales pretty close to shore!

2. Santa Monica

Santa Monica Beach is not a secret to those coming to L.A. What makes it such an attraction is the beautiful ocean, tons of restaurants and shops nearby, and of course the pier. One fun thing to do is take bikes along the beach path and take in the sunset. There are activities for everyone to be happy!

3. Hermosa

Hermosa Beach is a dreamy beach town that has coffee shops (my personal favorite is Lucky7 Coffee), oceanside dining and plenty of sand for people to spread out on. There is a pier to walk out on and a farmers market that meets the sand.

4. Dockweiler

Dockweiler Beach is great because there are fire pits that allow for bonfires and barbeques. There are also delivery services, like the Meat District, that will deliver straight to the beach for whatever you are grilling!

5. Malibu

Malibu is one of my family’s favorite spots. It is a relaxing and beautiful beach that has beautiful beaches with breathtaking views. The Malibu Cafe has a menu and view that will instantly bring peace and the menu has a delicious variety that will appease anyone’s pallet.
