Royal/T's Farewell Pop-Up with Cordero Negro

Culver City's Royal/T shuts its doors for good after next weekend, but not before going out with a bang. Chef Sandra Cordero, who apprenticed under Neal Fraser and Michael Cimarusti, will serve a special two-night dinner featuring traditional tapas like meatballs in spicy tomato sauce and piquillo peppers stuffed with herbed goat cheese.

Wirtshaus “Free Beer” One Year Anniversary Party

In celebration of its first birthday, the German sausage spot will tap a ceremonial “birthday” keg and give out a free beer to guests who are seated and purchase an entrée. Live music, food specials, and Summer Olympics coverage, will all be available at the outdoor “biergarten.”

Vertical Wine Bistro's “Ode to Julia Child”

In honor of what would have been the Pasadena native's 100th birthday,

chef Laurent Quenioux will offer diners a three-course prix-fixe menu featuring classics from Child's debut cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Wine pairings will be provided by vinters from Santa Barbara's Ampelos Cellars.

Chinatown Summer Nights

L.A.'s popular summertime block party is back in the heart of Chinatown. The evening event will feature Chinese chefs performing Iron Chef-style cooking competitions, gourmet food trucks, plus KCRW DJs and local bands performing live throughout the night.
