Third Annual L.A. Craft Beer Crawl

More than 50 craft beers will be poured for unlimited sampling at downtown bars including Casey's, Cole's, Seven Grand, Las Perlas, Caña, Broadway Bar, Tony's Saloon and the Golden Gopher, which guests can tour in a daylong suds-filled romp. The beer selection will be curated by the Beer Chicks, Hallie Beaune and Christina Perozzi.

Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship

The world's top professional eaters will descend on Little Tokyo to compete for the title of champion dumpling master. Guests are invited to watch the competition and cheer on their favorites; it's first come, first seated, so get there early.

Seed Library of L.A. Panel Discussion of GMO Foods

Seed Library of L.A. hosts Jeffrey Smith and Tom Newmark will speak about the hazards of the widespread use of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) and why Proposition 37, California's “right to know” initiative on the Nov. 6 ballot, is essential to health-minded consumers. Also offered: a taste test of tomatoes from SLOLA members' gardens.

Bristol Farms Hatch Chile Roasting

This weekend the Manhattan Beach Bristol Farms teams up with Melissa's Produce to host roastings of authentic New Mexico Hatch chiles, a seasonal Southwestern chile that boasts a nationwide following. Customers can have their chiles roasted to use in recipes such as chile verde or enchiladas.
