Tacos & Beer 5K

Tacos & Beer 5K will be taking place in Long Beach, sponsored by Exitos 93.9 FM MC Raq-c and MC Nachin, Bud Light Lime, TeQava, and East Los Angeles Tacos. Participants who finish the race will receive a taco and a beer in addition to a finisher medal, goodie bag, and t-shirt. Food trucks and live cover bands are scheduled to appear.

WHEN: Saturday, May 4, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

WHERE: Long Beach Golf Learning Center, 3701 Pacific Pl., Long Beach.

COST: $45 registration (up until May 3); $55 registration (on May 4)

Vegan Beer Festival

This year's Vegan Beer Festival will feature around 40 breweries and 30 food vendors. Participating breweries and vendors include Golden Road, Firestone, North Coast, Deschutes, Lagunitas, Stone, Seabirds, Shojin, Mohawk Bend, M Cafe, Plant Food for People, Dosa Truck, and Seabirds.

WHEN: Saturday, May 4, 1 p.m.

WHERE: 8950 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood

COST: $40 (advance); $50 (day of) for general admission. $50 (advance); $60 (day of) for VIP tickets

Gluten-Free Expo

Cooking demonstrations and a gluten-free beer garden are part of what's considered the largest gluten-free expo in the nation. The two-day event will bring in 100-plus exhibitors like Glutino, Bob's Red Mill Natural Foods, and SoyJoy. The education conference is scheduled for Saturday, while the expo will take place over the weekend.

WHEN: Saturday, May 4, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday, May 5, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

WHERE: Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena; (626) 793-2122.

COST: For Saturday and Sunday, $140 (member and non-member) includes breakfast buffet and plated lunch; $85 without meals (member); $105 without meals (non-member). For Sunday only, $20.

Grande Cinco de Mayo Block Party

Tortilla Republic is hosting an outdoor block party in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. The event will feature food from Tortilla Republic along with beer and cocktails from participating sponsors. Live DJs and a mariachi band are scheduled to perform. Proceeds from the party will go toward Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that serves free meals to men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses.
