Diamond Plaza Food Truck Fest

Waffles de Liege, Slummin Gourmet and Dogzilla are among the food trucks gathering at the Rowland Heights plaza — a convenient location given nearby options like Ten Ren's Tea Time, Tokyo Shabu Shabu and New Capital Seafood.

Top Chef Pig Roast

Nyesha Arrington is hosting a pig roast fundraiser complete with BBQ sides, cocktails and craft beers to benefit Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation Los Angeles as well as the organization's aims to combat childhood hunger in the United States. Arrington will be joined by fellow past contestants of various Top Chef series, including Ilan Hall, C.J. Jacobsen, Danielle Keene, Marcel Vigneron, Alex Reznik and Brooke Williamson.

Red Car Wine Dinner

Steve Samson and Zach Pollack are collaborating with Carroll Kemp of Red Car Wines for a four-course dinner with eight wines at Sotto. The menu will include marinated big-eye tuna, squid ink rigatoncini with spicy octopus, and a slow-cooked spring lamb with pickled ramps.

Five-Course Beer Dinner

Tin Roof Bistro will feature a five-course dinner paired with beer from El Segundo Brewing, making it a South Bay affair. Themed “If I Were a Food Truck,” the menu will feature food truck-inspired courses, starting with small bites of halibut ceviche and mini tacos al pastor. A shrimp and crab chili relleno and a tostada salad will be followed by roasted duck tamale cakes and a dessert course of quinceanera butter cake. The restaurant's chef Anne Conness will be joined in the kitchen by Gabriel Caliendo of Lazy Dog.
