The tasting class will cover notable French wine regions, including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Alsace, the Loire Valley and the southern Rhone Valley, with wines such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot and pinot noir. Reservations are recommended.

Light Up the Night: A Benefit for Descanso Gardens
Descanso Gardens hosts an outdoor garden party, complete with food, drink and live music. The Patina Restaurant Group will set up tasting stations with food from Ray's & Stark Bar, Nick & Stef's Steakhouse and Kendall's Brasserie. Live music will be provided by Dustbowl Revival, Roger Espinoza and DJ Matthew Rubino. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Descanso Gardens.

Bastille Day
Bouchon Bistro will commemorate Bastille Day with a three-course prix fixe special that includes paté, mesclun salad, entree and a dessert board. The restaurant also will screen Moulin Rouge as part of its “Movies in the Park” series.

Taste of Farmers Market
The Original Farmers Market hosts the fifth annual Taste of Farmers Market. Try a variety of offerings from the stalls and vendors at the Farmers Market, with options including pastrami sandwiches, toffee, doughnut holes, root beer floats, pear gorgonzola flatbread and Brazilian barbecue. Each ticket includes one sample per stall/vendor as well as two drink vouchers redeemable for non-alcoholic beverages, plus free parking.
