Whiskey in Winter Party

Santa Anita Park will celebrate its opening day with a whiskey tasting featuring brands including Calumet, Lexington and Koval. A ticket comes with unlimited tastings of whiskey as well as complimentary prosecco, food, valet parking and a commemorative flask.

Wine Tasting

Rosso Wine Shop, located where Glendale meets Montrose, hosts a weekend wine tasting, where $10 will buy a flight of three wines. Check the store website, rossowineshop.com, for announcements on varietals offered.

Grand Park's NYE L.A.

Even if you've already made New Year's Eve plans, you'll want to reconsider switching things up for the free fête at Grand Park. Food trucks scheduled to appear include India Jones, Lobos Truck, Sweet E's Bake Shop, Ela Brew, Street Kitchen, Grilled Cheese Truck and Mangia Ristorante on Wheels. There also will be a cash bar, a 3-D countdown projection shone on City Hall and a live feed of the Times Square ball drop. DJs Seano and Daedelus from dublab are among the performers lined up to ring in 2014 with the crowd.
