The Infield Hot Dog Stand's Inaugural Charlie Sheen Day
So here's how the Infield, the Sherman Oaks hot dog stand, describes this one: “A while back, Charlie surprised us at the Infield, grabbed a piece of chalk, jumped up on a chair and wrote his own special on our chalkboard, Charlie then tweeted the picture to his 8 million followers and the Charlie Dog w/Tiger Blood was born.” Welcome to the new world. And because Sept. 6 is Mr. Sheen's birthday, the folks at the Infield have declared that day Charlie Sheen Day and are offering lots of fun things — a Charlie Sheen look-alike contest, prizes, giveaways and specials.

Dodgers KTOWN Baseball Night
Your Dodgers, the KTOWN Night Market, KCM Agency and AL Party have joined up to present the LA Dodgers KTOWN Baseball Night. Why? Because Koreatown is great and the Dodgers are in first place (or at least were the last time we checked). For this party, the All-You-Can-Eat Pavilion will have unlimited Dodger dogs, snacks and soft drinks —  as well as a Hyun-Jin Ryu Bobblehead and a special KTOWN BLACK CARD, which gets you discounts to some fun places in Koreatown, including Beer Belly, KONY Pizzeria, Boo’s Philly Cheesesteaks, Castle 2 Korean BBQ and Eight Korean BBQ. Wait, there's more! Hip-hop rapper and Koreatown native Dumbfoundead will throw the night’s first pitch before the game against the Diamondbacks. After the game, there will be Friday Night Fireworks.

Farmers Market September Chile Roast
Every year the folks at the Virginia Avenue Park farmers market in Santa Monica hold a Southwest-style chile roast, or actually a few of them, every Saturday in September. If you don't roast your own chiles, this is a terrific opportunity to have someone do it for you. The farmers from whom you buy the chiles are actually on-site; you can buy your chiles, have them roasted and take them home without having to crank up the heat (and smoke) in your own kitchen. Chiles probably will be a selection from Tutti Fruitti farm, including California-grown Anaheims, poblanos, jalapeños and/or yellow Hungarian wax peppers. (This, of course, may change.) This market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, and the chiles will be available starting at 9 a.m. and going until they're gone.
