Hungry Cat Crab Fest
Chef-owner David Lentz and company are throwing their annual Crab Fest — this is their 10th — at the original Hungry Cat location in Hollywood. For the uninitiated, this is a yearly, one-day, five-course crab feast, Lentz's ode to his native Baltimore, sort of, with much to eat and drink. On the menu this year: crab salad, Maryland crab soup, soft-shell crab po'boy, Mexican street corn salad, steamed Maryland blue crabs and dulce de leche panna cotta. The Hungry Cat raw bar and the restaurant's many great cocktails also will be available. Yes, you need tickets, which you can buy in person at the restaurant or by phone at 323-462-2155. Probably reserve sooner rather than later, as this is very popular.
WHAT: Hungry Cat Crab Fest
WHEN: Sunday, July 27, 1 to 7 p.m.
WHERE: Hungry Cat Hollywood, 1535 N. Vine St., Los Angeles; 323-462-2155.
COST: $75 per person (plus tax and service charge); drinks and à la carte items are more.
