East L.A. Meets Napa
It's the eighth annual East L.A. Meets Napa & Beyond at Union Station, wherein 30 restaurants and 30 wineries marry Mexican food, California wines and tequila. The event will benefit AltaMed, a health care and social organization that provides such services as youth programs, substance abuse prevention and treatment.

Bordeaux Saturday
Plan a lazy Saturday afternoon at the Wine Country in Signal Hill. The shop will be holding a Bordeaux tasting — no reservations required.

Bourbon Dinner
To celebrate the arrival of an exclusive barrel-aged bourbon, Anne Conness will be making a four-course Southern meal with dishes like corn chowder shooters with mini bacon biscuits, roasted pig, and vanilla wafer cream pie. There will be bourbon cocktail pairings to go with the dinner.
