From “What Does the Fox Say?” to “Wrecking Ball”: YouTube has announced its top ten “trending” videos uploaded in 2013. What that means is a little opaque, but basically the company eliminated videos that didn't get enough engagement (like social media shares and adding to playlists), to help ferret out videos that got a lot of views that some company paid for but people didn't necessarily like. It also did not include official music videos from record-label artists, since views of those videos dwarf those of everyone else.

From the resulting pool, they ranked the top ten by views this year. So FWIW, here are the top ten trending videos of 2013.
