It's not a Presidential State Dinner — at which they performed this spring — but when Rodrigo y Gabriela arrive at the Greek Theatre tonight, it will be as one of the unlikeliest amphitheatre/festival headliners around these days.

The Mexican duo of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero have established themselves as guitar gods, earning earnest nods of approval from those who worship at the alter of Page and Clapton as well as classical music fans.

Their effects-less thicket of guitars is particularly dazzling on their latest album 11:11, released last fall and featuring a cameo by Alex Skolnick of Testament and a bit of production help from John Leckie. But mostly the album showcases Rod y Gab's amazing acoustics, wielded alternately like weapons of destruction and paintbrushes.

They are joined tonight at the Greek by singer-songwriter, Xavier Rudd, the didgeridoo-wielding Australian whose new album, Koonyum Sun, is a collaboration with the South African rhythm section of Tio Moloantoa and Andile Nqubezelo.

Elsewhere: Childish Gambino, the MC persona of actor/comedian Donald Glover (of the TV show Community), brings his hip-hop to the Bootleg Theater. … Mestizo holds forth at Low End Theory at the Airliner. … And it's almost like a night on Bourbon Street at the Hollywood Bowl, where the lineup features the Neville Brothers, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

Also: Taylor Dayne at the Americana mall in Glendale; Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs at Spaceland; Jamie Drake and Bardo at the Hotel Cafe; Girl in a Coma at Saint Rocke; the Clams at the Viper Room; Lido Beach and the Dares at the Roxy; the White Buffalo at the Mint; Adeline & the Philistines and Old Toy Trains at Echo Curio; and Non Ultra Joy at El Cid.
