K'naan's single “Wavin' Flag” is nothing if not global.

After the song got the nod as Coca-Cola's official World Cup jingle — and its lyrics were, ahem, tweaked, to make it more uplifting — the Somalian-born Canadian rapper trotted “Wavin' Flag” out in 86 countries on FIFA's World Cup Trophy tour, and since then it has hit No. 1 in 17 nations. (Which begs the question: What's up with those other 69 countries?)

How will it do in the Republic of the Sunset Strip?

Pretty well, we suspect. K'naan's tour stop tonight at the House of Blues includes an appearance by Bruno Mars, who co-produced “Wavin' Flag” and whose debut EP It's Better if You Don't Understand has become a commercial rage itself.

Mars is part of the hit-making production trio the Smeezingtons — his vocals are on B.o.B.'s hit “Nothin' on You,” so he knows No. 1, and Mars also helped Travie McCoy get his solo career started by collaborating on “Billionaire.”
