KCRW's newest cultural project Sonic Trace, which documents the experiences of L.A. residents who have immigrated from places like Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, will be hosting an opening party tonight at Koreatown's Guelaguetza restaurant from 7-11 p.m.

Live music from house band Latin Wood, a DJ set by Humberto Flores, $3 Tecates and free Oaxacan food (molotes, empanadas and the like) will be on hand for those joining the festivities.

Guests also can step into Sonic Trace's La Burbuja, a custom-built portable sound booth created to allow for on-site recording of Angelenos' stories. If you'd like to find out more about the event or RSVP check out Sonic Trace's Facebook page.
