In the shameless self-promotion department, we bring you the following news. West Coast Sound/LA Weekly Music Editor/Writer-In-the-Third-Person-Plural Randall Roberts (i.e. me) will be spinning records tonight at Calling All Kids at the Hyperion Tavern. What's Calling All Kids? It's the club night promoted by Sodapop of Anticon and matthewdavid of dublab; each week they bring in guests to spin with them (Dam Funk, Daedelus, Serengeti, etc.) , and tonight West Coast Sound is in the house. We'll be spinning with the estimable Frosty, co-founder of the Dublab collective. Word is it may even be broadcast live on KPFK, but we haven't gotten confirmation on that yet. (We've since gotten word: gotta see it in person; no go on KPFK.)

What will West Coast Sound be spinning? Good question. A mix of old rhythmic reggae and dub tracks mixed with new dubstep, experimental electronics, rock, 1920s New Orleans dance tracks, instrumental hip hop, classic 80s electro, and much much more.
