The astronaut is lifting off. After five months of running a daily pop-up coffee shop in the former Lucky Duck space on Hyperion in Silver Lake, Go Get Em Tiger (and its signature horizontal astronaut logo) is readying for its last day of cold brew and brunch Thursday.

To get some of L.A.'s most thoughtful coffee selection and service, you'll have to visit owners Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinksi — the latter of whom is the current U.S. Barista Champion — at either Go Get Em Tiger's original Larchmont location or at G&B Coffee at Grand Central Market, itself under construction and relegated to a makeshift counter nearby.

The timing for the end of the pop-up was supposed to be spot-on — with Silver Lake closing just as Go Get Em Tiger's new permanent Los Feliz shop was opening. But as with most things that involve city planning in Los Angeles, there have been setbacks. Employees say the new location, which is on Hollywood Boulevard between Bar Covell and Home State, is still at least a few months off.

Since opening in April, the Silver Lake pop-up has acted as a preview for the Los Feliz shop, including the introduction of an occasional weekend brunch event that included guided coffee pairings. There are also several available-daily items not made at Larchmont, including berry-laden toasts, a summer squash frittata, and a fried-egg-and-pork-patty sandwich, which is almost like a hearty breakfast burger.

After Go Get Em Tiger moves out of its temporary home, Square One Dining will move in to make a much-needed overflow location for the popular Fountain Avenue breakfast spot.
