Hey guys Tommy Chong here, back with another cannabis product review for the awesome L.A. Weekly crowd. Be warned, this one is both steamy and delicious!

Today I’m reviewing the first ever cannabis leaf-shaped waffle maker from Waffleye. I was stoked when I first saw this product. I love making waffles! I even make them for my family and friends from time to time. I know they’ll laugh when they see these Waffleye waffles though. This piece is really cool for any cannabis enthusiast’s collection. Where else can you transform soggy batter into golden brown crispy goodness shaped like your favorite flower?

I really like how quickly this heats up. I just plug it in and wait for awhile. Maybe toke a little to get my appetite up. Then, I pour in the mix and add my favorite toppings. What’s rad is you can do all sorts of mixes, not just regular waffle mix. You can use brownie batter, cinnamon rolls and it even makes cornbread! Imagine it’s your friend’s birthday and you make them a pot leaf cake. Yeah, you can do that too.

Once you put in the batter just close the lid, and let it do its thing. Here’s a pro tip though, after 30-40 seconds you can use a knife to clean off any excess batter around the edges to make your waffle a perfect circle. Be careful of the steam though. It’s hot… duh. Your nose will know when it’s ready (about three minutes). Open the lid and there you have it, a tasty, crispy stoner treat big enough to share. Don’t forget the syrup (maple is my favorite).

I definitely give these pot inspired waffles five sticky thumbs up because it’s easy to use, makes all sorts of stoner treats, and is the fun pot piece that keeps on giving.

If you’re looking to make your own leafy masterpiece check out their website. (Use the code LAWEEKLY for 20 percent off, November 1 -4.) They have a bunch of tasty recipes to try like lemon ricotta waffles, carrot cakes waffles and even a waffle panini!

Here’s my favorite with some Tommy Chong tweaks thrown in, of course!

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/4 a cup of dark chocolate (or your favorite edible)

How to Make It:

  1. Plug in, preheat and lightly grease your Waffleye Waffle Maker.
  2. In a bowl, mix sugar and butter. Add eggs, bananas, buttermilk and vanilla. Blend until smooth.
  3. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, dark chocolate and salt.
