Two-Year-Old Struck by SUV in Fremont Parking Lot

FREMONT, CA (August 29, 2023) – Thursday evening, a 2-year-old toddler was killed in a pedestrian crash on Mowry Avenue. The fatal incident happened around 6:00 p.m. in a Fremont parking lot at the 5000 block of Mowry Avenue. The details surrounding the crash are still unclear, but officials stated a moving SUV hit the boy. Responding emergency personnel rushed the child to a hospital but he later succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The child’s identity remains undisclosed to the public. According to a press release, “speed and impairment do not appear to be factors” in the incident. At this time, investigators are working to gather possible surveillance footage in the area that may have recorded the incident.
