3-Year-Old Child Fatally Injured in DUI 2-Car Collision near Blaine Street
RIVERSIDE, CA (November 29, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, a toddler was pronounced dead after a rollover DUI crash on 215 Freeway.
Police responded to the scene around 12:33 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Blaine Street on November 23rd.
Officers say the driver of a pickup-truck was experiencing mechanical issues when they attempted to pull over. However, the driver of a sedan struck the pickup-truck.
First responders arrived and pronounced a passenger inside the sedan, a 3-year-old girl, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported another child and the driver of the sedan to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
In addition, the driver of the pickup-truck remained uninjured. Following preliminary duties, police determined that alcohol impairment was a factor.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided about the rollover DUI crash on 215 Freeway.
