In the what-has-the-world-come-to department, we bring you the warm story of a man playing a video game early Tuesday in L.A.'s Koreatown neighborhood: Someone walked up to him and opened fire, putting him in County-USC Medical Center, where he's recovering.

The attack happened shortly after 2 a.m. at Hazza Internet and PC Games near West Sixth Street and South Hobart Avenue, police said. The victim was seated and engaged in a game when he was attacked. The victim “was shot multiple times,'' said Los Angeles police Sgt. Julius Guay.

Police have not released a motive for the attack but said they were on the lookout for a single suspect. If gaming is getting this serious — this puts the “g' in Wii — we'd suggest staying home and playing with your own joystick (it's safer).
