An Inland Empire plainclothes police officer captured a 15-year-old allegedly ransacking his vehicle and locked the boy inside the rented SUV. According to Redlands Daily Fact, the officer saw the teenager climb into the passenger side of the car, so he used the SUV's remote to lock the boy inside the car.

The officer, who is from the San Manuel Indian Reservation's police department, was on an undercover assignment at the time, according to the report. He took the boy into custody and waited for Redlands police to arrest the teenager.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and attempted auto theft with an additional gang enhancement.
