The above photo, taken two months after the stock market crash that ushered in the Great Depression, shows a Christmas ornament before it is placed atop a downtown streetlight. (Ornament is on the left.) It's an early but promising example of L.A. Cheesecake — we especially like the torn-tent touch in the upper right-hand corner.
