Gustavo TurnerFlavorpill has found “How Fucking Romantic,” an amazing UK website that encourages artists to illustrate every single one of the Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs.

Like these artists, we fell in and out of love to these melodies, so each of these artistic interpretations is like a forgotten love note we just now found tucked inside an old binder covered in scribbles. Not that they had anything to do with it, but it's almost enough to make us forgive the Fields for opening every episode of The Real World DC.
At this point, most of the songs in the set have been nabbed by artists — though not necessarily rendered into art — but if you're an illustrator you might be able to call dibs on one of your own. Some of the ones we we kind of can't wait for are “Papa Was a Rodeo”, “Time Enough for Rocking When We're Old”,”(Crazy for You But) Not That Crazy” and “I Shatter.”

These Julia Scheele's illustrations for Vol. 3's “Underwear” (one of our fave 69 love songs!) are really cool, though their heterosexualization of the clearly ambiguous lyric is a little problematic…
