Once in a while we writers like to pry ourselves away from the computer, crawl out of our caves and indulge in other media like, say, radio or podcasting. Today from 12 noon – 2 p.m. PST, L.A. Weekly Music Editor Randall Roberts will guest live on Indie 103.1 FM's Jonesy's Jukebox Jury with host Steve Jones (of the Sex Pistols, like I even need to remind you).

For those who need a refresher course on the broadcast, each Friday Jonesy invites special guests on-air to listen to new music and vote as to whether each song is “mustard” (good) or “pants” (bad). Pretty sure it's a Brit thing. This afternoon Jonesy has selected a panel of music critics to join him in dropping the gavel, including Ann Powers of the L.A. Times, Sergio Cilli of Current TV and, of course, our very own Roberts.

So do what you have to do — take a long lunch break, slip on a set of headphones at work, hide out in the broom closet with your laptop, whatever — but be sure to tune in via Indie 103.1 radio (the old fashioned way) or by listening live online. If you miss it, you can always catch it later this afternoon on Jonesy's On-Demand section of the Indie Web site.
