Tobias Summers, the gang member wanted in the horrific abduction of a 10-year-old Northridge girl, was captured in Mexico this morning, officials said.

After getting nowhere by waiting him out, Mexican authorities yesterday launched a campaign to plaster his mug in public. It worked:

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said someone recognized him and he was captured based on a tip.

More details would be released later, she said.

KNX 1070 Newsradio, which has a reporter in San Diego, says that the suspect was caught at a rehab facility between Rosarito and Ensenada called Las Misiones. There's also a town and eponymous surf spot between the two cities called La Mision.

A Mexican law enforcement official told the station that authorities knew they had their man when they spied the Superman tattoo on his chest: “We got Superman,” he said.

Summers faces three-dozen sex crime counts after he allegedly snatched the girl from her bedroom early on March 27, took her to an abandoned home and attacked her before dropping her off 10 hours later.
