In 1995 French film director Claire Denis met delicate English popsters Tindersticks in Paris, and one thing led to another. “Another” in this case was an ongoing collaboration wherein Tindersticks (and occasionally leader Stuart A. Staples solo) provided innovative soundtracks for a series of Denis' impressionistic art-house successes. Now these scores are being released as box set Claire Denis Film Scores 1996-2009 and the band will be doing a limited tour presenting the material. Wispy boys: Suit up in your cardigans and head to CSULA to find your cat-eyeglassed soul mates now. Your meet-cute at a Tindersticks/Claire Denis event will be unsurpassable.

Tindersticks perform selections from Claire Denis Film Scores 1996-2009 at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex at CSULA on Sat., April 30, at 8 p.m.; luckmanarts.org/events.
