56-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident in Redding

REDDING, CA (November 15, 2021)Friday, Tina Kay Michaels was killed after being hit by a garbage truck on California-Market Alley.

Investigators responded to the scene around 8:00 a.m., after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Shortly after, officers arrived and identified 56-year-old Michaels. Due to the impact of the collision, she was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The surrounding area was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties, but has since reopened.

Initial investigations said Michaels was sleeping in the alleyway when a garbage truck ran over her. However, more information will be provided once available.
